CATCH Family Fun Night

We hope that you saved the date for our CATCH Family Fun and Book Fair Night on Thursday, May 14th.  This is a free event that will take place from 5:30-7:30 pm all around the Summitt Campus.

We will have many fun fitness activities provided by the Anderson Wrestling and Lacrosse teams, Yes Youth Fitness, and Trojan Pop Warner.  Light snacks will be provided at the Book Fair. The gym will also be open for students to get active and have fun with family and friends.

Each student that attends will receive a free jump rope donated by Modern Woodmen of America and a free Tom's toothpaste sample donated by the Summitt PTA.

A big thanks goes out to the North Mopac and Parmer HEB and Whole Foods Domain for donating gift cards and prizes for our attendees. We will have 7 student prizes and 4 teacher prizes.  Look for the HEB/Whole Foods banner in the hallway to enter the raffle.  Winners will be announced at the assembly the following morning.

Thanks for your continued support and we hope to see you then!!

Our window for Fitnessgram testing begins this week.  All 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students will be tested in muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility.  Tests include the Pacer, Push-ups, Curl-ups, Sit and reach, Trunk lift and Body Mass Index.

As always, please make sure your kiddos are getting 8-10 hours of sleep, a nutritious breakfast and send them off in comfy attire and tennis shoes.

Please see link below for more details and thanks for your support!

Welcome Back!

We hope your kiddos are having fun in Physical Education! My name is Michelle Comsudi and I am the full-time PE teacher at Summitt. I am a proud Texas Longhorn and this will be my 8th year as a Summitt Eagle. Coach Woodward is a Texas State Bobcat and this is his 2nd year traveling to Summitt to teach PE.

We will be teaching 2 skill units and 2 health units each 9-week period.  This first 9-weeks we are focused on cooperative games, nutrition, cardiovascular functions, and throwing and catching skills!

We will be sending out Marathon Kids registration forms in the coming weeks. Those will be due by October 25th, which is the date of the Kick-off event at UT. Once your registration form has been turned in, I will give your son or daughter a running/walking log which they will use to track their 26.2 miles throughout the next 5 months. Logs will be due by the end of February so I can order their Free Finisher T-shirts. If you need more information about Marathon Kids, please visit www.marathonkids.org
